Desk 3 Drawer

This was an enjoyable piece to make.

It was commissioned by an older lady who came to my market stall one Sunday morning.  She never had any intention of commissioning a piece of furniture and this was done on the back of being inspired by the other items that I used to display there.

There are four timbers that I used for the process.  The timbers you can see are Silky Oak, Melaleuca and Brush Box.  The brush box was actually a dead standing tree that I cut down and processed myself.  It’s a beautiful timber with a very tight grain structure, but still very workable.  The fourth timber is Crows Ash which is used for the drawer runners.

The lady who commissioned the piece said that she wrote a lot and wanted something nice to write on, I think this fits the bill
