Ornamental Hanging Garden

Just another ornamental hanging garden, home for an air plant and probably some microbes.

And, speaking of microbes …… no sorry, just joking.

Seriously though, how’s your carbon footprint?  Think it actually means something, I sincerely hope not, but in case you do I’ve some numbers to consider.

By now I suspect you know how much of our atmosphere is carbon dioxide.  Don’t know?, well it’s approximately 0.04%.  That’s four one hundredths of one percent.

And of that 0.04% how much do you think humans have contributed?.  Bearing in mind this is over a couple of centuries not weeks or decades.  Well, the number is approximately 3%. That’s 3% of 0.04%. I’ll do the math for you, that’s 0.0012% of the atmosphere.

Things are starting to get eyewateringly small.  And so then, how much do you think a country like Australia contributes in terms of CO².  It’s not big, it’s only approximately 1.3%, if you can believe that propaganda.

Anyway, lets assume all of that’s true and do a bit of number crunching shall we.  So we know that humans, in total, have contributed approximately 0.00012%. Lets have a look.

0.0012% x 1.3% = are you ready, 0.0000156%.  Seriously 0.0000156%, that’s it.  Assuming that it’s all true of course.  And that makes CO² more deadly than Sarin gas, it would seem.  It’s certainly as insane as dropping a pinch of salt into Sydney Harbor and coming back the next day with the expectation that it’ll taste saltier as a result.  Total and complete unbridled insanity.
