Woodhenge
The idea of this table, Woodhenge, came to me after looking at some pictures of Stone Henge. Admittedly, it wasn’t just Stone Henge providing the inspiration. It is also the idea of reductionist design. Stripping everything away until all that’s left are the elements providing the function. Then creating those things for maximum visual impact.
All I wanted to see was three pieces of wood, that’s it. No bars, no bracing, nothing. In achieving that, I attached a 6mm thick stainless steel plate to the top of each leg. That plate is then rebated in on the underside of the table, where it can’t easily be seen. And that’s that. It’s as basic as you can get, but the visual impact of Woodhenge is superb.
And it’s funny that someone should raise the subject of ancient ruins, because it reminds me of the current status of democracy worldwide. It reminds me that the very idea of it is shrinking away from the guts of every parliament, congress and senate, worldwide.
We have been sold out by the very people whom were elected to keep the fascist corporate world at arms length from the citizenry. We have been sold out to the fascist overlords at the UN, WHO, and private WEF. They all remain un-elected and unaccountable fascist dogs that want your democracy and access to it stripped away.
They are coming for you, your freedom and your humanity. Wakey wakey.
