Beefwood Bowl

A free form bowl carved from a block of Beefwood with copper leaf gilding.

Beefwood (Grevillea Striata) is in the same family as Silky Oak however it differs significantly in hardness and growth rate. Beefwood is extremely hard and slow growing. I would not like to estimate the age of this piece of timber but I suspect it’s hundreds of years old
